I would say it is a pretty safe bet that today might have been the last bare arms and bare legs ride of the 2009 season, and it felt great. I had good legs today, even with the wind blowing in my face as I climbed that hill going past the Waukesha water tower on Guthrie.
I really like this route this time of year. It's very rural at times. Today I rode past horses, cows, sheep and barns. The trees look great with a dash of sunshine on them as well. I had to roll through some wet pavement and puddles from the morning rain, but that was OK too. No complaints today. And the only reason I could wait long enough to ride once the rain stopped and the sun came out was because I'm unemployed. At last, a benefit to that!
