Finally.
Finally, my wife Sandy came up wth the time to ride her Bianchi for the first time this summer today! We aired the tires and headed out on Labor Day Weekend Sunday. Funny thing was, just as we left it clouded up, and our nice sunny ride turned into a mostly overcast ride. Still, it was great to be out on rural roads just rolling along at 10-12 mph taking in the quiet countryside.
Come on along with a few pics...
Moooooo...
Did someone say corn? Much of the 14-mile jaunt looked like this:

And you can't beat THIS road sign for an example of rural Wisconsin riding. Just to brag a little, I grabbed this shot while riding at the last second!

We rambled along a familiar old route for a time, then did a little exlploring on the way back, taking a road or two we had not tried before. It turned out to be a nice loop for us. Along the way we stopped to help a couple of riders who needed some directions. I felt glad to be able to give them the info they needed to get where they were going.
This old sign is still there too...still cracks me up...."sewin"

Here's Sandy on the Bianchi today. She had really been wanting to get a ride like this in for some time now.

And just before getting home, a stop at an old friend's rummage sale. This guy is always out there with his 'stuff' on holiday weekends. We've bought a few things from him in the past, including an old Raleigh bike that I have on display in my cycling man cave now.

A safe ride in the books, I got back to the lake house, took a shower and enjoyed a leftover grilled hot dog and some chips and salsa with a beer. It may not have been the longest ride....It may not have been the fastest ride...but you know what...I think it was one of my favorites of the year.
As I was just telling my rider sister in York, PA, sometimes it is not the quantity, but the quality of the ride.
