The 2008 season of cycling.
--"Mama, the Italians are coming!"

Where to begin really?
I wasn't going to ride today, and really wasn't ready to go when I did. I kept hemming and hawing over it. I looked out the window at the temp...just 50. I looked out the window more at the sky...dark clouds. I checked the radar on my laptop. Nothing for now. Huh..should I go?
You know your head wasn't into it when you get to the end of the driveway only to realize you don't have your helmet on. Back to the garage I went. Then, a few blocks into it, I realize I never put my riding glasses on either, so this ride would be in my regular glasses.
Less than 10 miles in I actually stopped because I thought my rear wheel looked funny. I kept checking it and kept wondering if I had a tire going down. Nope...the tire was fine. I rode on. I did three laps on the Whitnall Park crit course today, just taking it easy on kind of a dank morning.
Well, with about eight miles to go the rear looked worse. I figured it just went out of true really bad for some reason and had a wobble. I decided I would ride on and just get home easy if I could. There was no noise amazingly ... which would have tipped me off.
Take a look at what I found when I finished the ride...what's wrong with this picture?

Broke spoke hanging there to the left!
Like I said...never heard a thing. Amazing. I was riding with a pretty serious brake rub back there as well as it turned out.
Off to the LSB I go..again. It's been a rough spring...first a broken spacer now a broken spoke. I didn't think I put THAT much weight on!
Jerry is gonna make up a cot for you soon I think bro! hehehe
