Follow-up post; I DID break something on my Klein...

I KNEW IT!

I could just tell that after that pothole over a week ago my bike was not right. I finally took it in to Rainbow Jersey this afternoon to be checked out...since I hadn't needed the bike all week due to lousy weather.

My main wrench Jarred foud the issue right away, and seemed quite impressed with the damage I had done because he said he'd never seen that happen before. I broke a spacer...just snapped it. There was a chunk out of the thing. So certainly, my headtube wasn't seated properly.

The nice thing is that the wheel, despite taking that massive clunk, was fine. And there was no further damage anywhere else.

He quickly replaced the spacer and put it all back together for me. $1.50 part was all it took.

But of course I made sure to take care of him with a tip. The lesson here riders? Always be nice to your favorite bike mechanic.

Looks like Tuesday and Wednesday of this week will provide enough weather and time to get rides in, so if I do I'll be posting here once again.
